Lower your 1973-1987 GM pickup while dramatically improving its handling and ride quality. Nicknamed the “square body,” these pickups really benefit from our StreetGRIP suspension system. The complete kit includes special composite leaf springs that shed a considerable amount of un-sprung weight. The trick leaf springs also create a great stance in conjunction with custom coil springs and dropped spindles. Self-lubricating Delrin bushings reduce deflection without making noise. The icing on the cake is a set of Ridetech HQ Series adjustable mono tube shock absorbers. Our shocks are vastly superior to the cheap twin-tube shocks sold in other kits with respect to handling, ride, and durability. When choosing a suspension kit, it’s important to keep in mind that shocks are one of the most important parts of the equation. Ridetech shocks are so good, they carry a million and one mile warranty. StreetGRIP and Square bodies go great together. The proof is in the drive. Vehicle-specific Ridetech HQ or RQ-S Series Shocks have adjustable rebound to help you fine tune ride and handling to suit your driving preferences. The HQ’s use an aluminum body and the RQ-S a steel body, both shocks use the same Fox internal components. Composite Leaf Springs eliminate spring sag and optimize ride quality & handling while reducing un-sprung weight by as much as 70 lbs. Custom Shackles and Hangers with Delrin Bushings eliminate unwanted movement and stiction, improve handling, and are self-lubricating. Front Coil Springs are CNC cold-wound from high tensile premium steel by then powder-coated for long-lasting, consistent operation. Featuring a linear spring rate, they provide excellent handling and ride quality. Large 1.5″ Front Sway Bar minimizes unwanted body roll through the corners. Includes billet aluminum frame mounts and low friction bushings. 2.5″ Drop Spindles allow a lowered stance while maintaining suspension travel. The modular design allows for variety of brake options including Baer, Wilwood or the stock HD brakes (1.25″ wide rotors). Optional Delrin Bushings and shaft kit to upgrade your OEM control arms to eliminate metal-to-metal OEM bushings or worn OEM rubber bushings will provide years of quiet friction-free service. Add Ridetech Front StrongArms to reduce installation time and increase performance versus rebuilding the stock control arms. Select the option above to deduct the front control arms ball joints and bushings from the StreetGRIP system. Coil spring lower arms are Part # 11352199 and the upper arms are Part # 11363699. When combing these arms with a drop spindle, a minimum 28″ tall tire is recommended to maintain adequate ground clearance.
