The GTA 40 is STIHL’s innovative battery-powered pruner, specifically engineered for professional use. Part of the AS System, it is powered by 2x AS 2 lithium-ion batteries, offering exceptional versatility for a wide range of tasks, both on the ground and at height. Whether you’re caring for trees and shrubs, working in professional horticulture and landscaping, processing wood on construction sites, or tackling canopy and crown reduction work, the GTA 40 provides the power and precision needed for the job. Equipped with a high-performance EC motor and a ¼” PM3 saw chain, the GTA 40 delivers precise, clean cuts. Its variable chain speed ensures optimal control, while the sprocket cover with side-mounted chain tensioning and automatic chain lubrication enhances ease of use and maintenance. For user comfort and safety, the GTA 40 features a soft rubberized handle and upper grip to prevent slipping, as well as a claw-shaped deflector that separates the grip area from the cutting attachment. Its ergonomic two-handed design is suitable for both right- and left-handed users, with a conveniently positioned rocker switch on both sides. The attachment ring allows the pruner to be easily hooked onto a belt, providing quick access whether working on the ground or at height. For even more convenience, an optional GTA 40 holster allows for fast access during tasks. The pruner comes with a hard case for easy transport, with space to store the tool, up to 6x AS 2 batteries, and the AL 5-2 high-speed charger, ensuring you’re always prepared. Operating with 2x AS 2 batteries discharged in parallel (cannot be used with a single battery), the GTA 40 features a clear charge level indicator for easy monitoring. The AL 5-2 high-speed charger ensures both batteries recharge simultaneously in just 50 minutes, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Working time: 50 minutes or 190 cuts (5 cm branch width) with 2x AS 2 batteries. Warranty: Backed by a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. The GTA 40 is available as the unit only or as a kit with 2x AS 2 batteries and the dual fast charger, offering the flexibility to suit your needs.
